- Art Matthews meets Richard Sills of the Potomac Region & Eastern Region VP and discusses creating a club region in southeastern Virginia

Mike Suttle agreed to provide meeting space and limited sponsorship of club activities.

October 24, 1995 - The initial “Club” meeting was held at Suttle Motor Corporation with eighteen prospective members attending.

»  A proposal was presented to establish a CLC region
» 11 of 18 agreed to become charter members fulfilling the  
  minimum 
requirement for the establishment of a provision charter


1996

February   - Provisional Charter granted at the National Board meeting in Detroit

March        - The club's Newsletter becomes "The Gold Standard"
                   - The club votes to join the Car Club Council of Hampton Roads
                   - A list of Cadillac & LaSalle owners in the Hampton Roads area is created

April
           - The First edition of "The Gold Standard" is written

August       - Club members participate in the American Automobile Centennial
                     Parade and Show in Norfolk, Virginia

October      - A Halloween social  is held at Art Matthews home

1997

February 
 - James Gregg attended the National Board meeting in Chicago

    Winter Board meeting 
» Club membership doubled to 22 members




February
  - James Gregg hosted the first Tool Party

April     
    - Art Matthews, Howard Hodnett and Mandy Jones attended "The 
                   Boardwalk Exotic Auto Expo" in Virginia Beach, Virginia

                    » Art's 1979 Le Cabriolet took 6th runner up in a field of 180 cars

April         - Art Matthews, Howard Hodnett and Don Finlay attended the Suffolk Spring
                   Spectacular at the Suffolk airport. Art takes Best in class

September - Art Matthews, James Gregg, Viator Trudeau and Kevin Jenn attend
                      the Grand National in Chicago

October     - The club's First Annual Cadillac-LaSalle Show was held at Suttle
                     Motor Corporation in Newport News, Virginia

November - One year anniversary for the club

1998

March        - Region meetings are posted on a local website:      
                     www.hamptonroads.digitalcity.com

July            - Art Matthews, James Gregg, Viator Trudeau and Walter Youshocf
                     registered to attend the Grand National Meet at the Islandia Marriott
                     on Long Island at Hauppauge, New York

October     - The club's Second Annual Cadillac-LaSalle Show was held at Suttle
                      Motor Corporation in Newport News, Virginia
